3-DAY LA GUAJIRA DESERT MOTORCYCLE TOUR

For experienced riders who want to get a taste of La Guajira desert on two wheels.

Day 1

Start: 9am
Where: Santa Marta - Cabo de la Vela
Riding hours: 6-7
Highlights Include:
 

  • Cruising down the Troncal del Caribe seaside highway.

  • Tearing up the desert flats on the way into the desert.

  • Sunset over the Caribbean Sea.

  • Fresh seafood and cheap beers for dinner.

Day 2

Riding hours: 4
Where: Cabo de la Vela - Riohacha
Highlights Include:
 

  • A lazy morning by the Caribbean.

  • Visiting the nearby El Faro, Ojo del Agua, El Arcoiris and Pilon de Azucar.

  • Exploring the multi-colored salt pools in Manaure, including flocks of bright pink flamingoes.

  • Visiting Mayapo beach, just north of Riohacha.

Day 3

Riding hours: 4
Where: Riohacha - Santa Marta
Highlights Include:
 

  • Traditional breakfast in Riohacha (try the stingray!).

  • Stopping in at Dibulla beach, a quiet fishing village.

  • Lunch with our friends at Prima Luna Restaurant, the best pizza in northern Colombia.

  • Washing the dirt of and cliff-jumping at Quebrada Valencia waterfall before cruising back to Santa Marta.
     

Finish: 4-5pm
