Moto Tour Details

In these thirteen days you will enjoy endless hours of twisty mountain passes, explore some of the most varied and picturesque terrains of the Colombian interior, and traverse several branches of the Colombian Andes. All the while taking in incredible landscapes, delicious flavors, and unique, warm and welcoming accommodation all over this beautiful country.
Day 1
Start: 9 am
Where: Bogota - Giradot
Riding hours: 190 kms - 4.5 hours
Highlights Include:

Stop at the impressive Tequendama waterfall, just outside of Bogota.

Winding mountain roads up over the Andes and out of the Bogota plains.
-
Arrive for an evening river cruise along the Magdalena.
Day 2
Where: Giradot - Tatacoa Desert
Riding hours: 100km / 2.5 hours
Highlights Include:

Put some early miles on, blasting down the highway
-
Spend the final hours of the day exploring the incredible tatacoa desert.

Star-gazing at an observatory a short walk from our funky desert accommodation.
Day 3
Where: Tatacoa Desert - San Augistin
Riding hours: 270 kms - 6 hours
Highlights Include:

Head south towards San Augustin - home to one of Colombia’s most impressive archaeological sites.
-
Stop for lunch in Gigante - home to an enormous 500+ year old tree in the town plaza.
-
Dinner and a relaxed evening poolside at a homestay above San Augustin.
Day 4
Where: San Augustin - Mocoa
Riding hours: 150 kms - 3.5 hours
Highlights Include:

Spend the morning exploring the incredible UNESCO archaeological site.

Head further south along highway 45, taking in stunning views of the Andes mountains.

Arrive for sunset at our jungle hideaway accomodation
Day 5
Where: Mocoa Rest Day
Riding hours: N/A
Highlights Include:
-
Choose from multiple different activites.
-
Hikes, waterfalls, rivers and caves if you’re feeling active, or massages, cocktails and pools if you’re feeling like chilling. Or both. Choose your own adventure.
Day 6
Where: Mocoa - Pasto
Riding hours: 150 kms - 4.5 hours
Highlights Include:

Enter the Devil’s Trampoline. A 4-hour, offroad ride along a thin road next to to a steep cliff.

Stop off along the way at a local eatery for refueling of bikes and bodies.

Wash the dirt off at our stunning lakeside accommodation
Day 7
Where: Pasto - Popoyan
Riding hours: 270km - 5.5 hrs
Highlights Include:

Head up in elevation and get into some amazing canyons.
-
The view from Juanambú bridge.
-
Overnight in Popayan, Colombia’s famous “white city”
Day 9
Where: La Union Rest Day
Riding hours: ????
Highlights Include:

Optional half-day enduro ride around local area
-
Chill, walk, swim, unwind in the most motorcycle-friendly place in Colombia
Day 11
Where: Salento - Nevado del Ruiz
Riding hours: 110 kms - 2.5 hours
Highlights Include:
-
Choice of a coffee farm visit, or a short walk through the valle de cocora and its towering palm trees.

Quick burst along the highway towards Manizales, where a late lunch awaits.

Arrive at our hot spring accommodation with enough time to enjoy a nice warm swim in the thermal pools.
Day 13
Where: Honda - Bogota
Riding hours: 190 kms - 4.5 hours
Highlights Include:

Final trip of the day starts with us twisting and turning up the middle branch of the Andes.

Stop roadside at a local eatery for lunch.
-
Come down the other side into Bogota, where we finish our journey, and get ready for a final dinner together.
Day 8
Where: Popoyan - La Union
Riding hours: 290 kms - 5 hours
Highlights Include:

Put some highway miles on early as we twist and turn through the westernmost branch of the Andes
-
Hearty lunch at a famous restaurant outside of Cali
-
Arrive at Donkey Sunrise Campground- a motorcyclists haven, for dinner, drinks and stories.
Day 10
Where: La Union - Salento
Riding hours: 270 kms - 5.5 hours
Highlights Include:

Relaxed morning ride to a nearby coffee farm for a tour and fresh brews.

Try your hand at Tejo- Colombia’s national game that combined beers and explosives.
-
Enjoy the fresh climate of Salento, and an epic dinner at “Brunch” restaurant.
Day 12
Where: Nevado del Ruiz - Honda
Riding hours: 190 kms - 4.5 hours
Highlights Include:

Wake up the right way with a thermal bath.
-
The epic, volcanic scenery as we go over the Nevado del Ruiz mountain pass.
-
Short visits to the blue lagoon, and a field of frailejóna plant native to these volcanic, mountainous areas.
-
Cross over what was the largest suspension bridge in the world when it was first built.
